GTIN’s
GTIN stands for Global Trade Item Number. The term “GTIN Barcodes” is a generic term that can refer to various types of barcodes used for retail purposes worldwide.
The way to differentiate what kind of barcode a GTIN is depends on the number of digits it has in it. So, a GTIN-12 is a UPC-A barcode, a GTIN-13 is an EAN-13 barcode, and a GTIN-14 is an ITF-14 Carton Code. These are the most common types of GTIN barcodes you will hear about – although you may also hear of a GTIN-18, which refers to an SSCC Pallet barcode.
